My Alma mater, Virginia Commonwealth University has made it to the Final Four and I’m very pumped about it. Getting into the Final Four has invigorated me to work hard myself. I am so motivated. The recent wins mean a lot to me because VCU is the underdog, but also VCU gives everyone a chance. The great thing about VCU is that almost everyone gets accepted, but you have to work hard for yourself to stay.

When I was a student at VCU, Curls was published twice a week in The Commonwealth Times newspaper. My fellow peers at VCU were the first fans of Curls and I appreciate their loyalty. While at VCU, I also served on the Activities Programming Board and as an “Ambassador” Tour Guide. At that time, I was also very active with AIGA Richmond and on the board of AIGA VCU.

Yesterday VCU beat the #1 team Kansas and that makes VCU the #1 team now. VCU has earned the right to be in the Final Four. Congratulations to VCU. Let’s go Rams! Our Time. Right Now.

UPDATE: MARCH 29, 2011
I was inspired to create a better icon than the one above, so I took the time and vectorized it to honor VCU’s coach. Please checkout my Etsy Store to purchase prints with my original Shaka Smart design.
